FAQ

Short answers about the tests, the $8 plan, and what a result is allowed to mean.

Taking a test

What is Meridian?

A set of short quizzes. You agree or disagree with plain statements, and you see which habit fits you best. The theme and the scores are free. A written explanation is $8 a month.

How long does a test take?

Most tests are six prompts and take about three minutes. Tendencies is a little longer. You can leave and come back in the same tab.

Do I need an account?

No. You can take a quiz and see the theme and the scores without signing up. An account keeps the tests you finish while logged in, and Kept opens the written explanation.

Can I retake a test?

Yes. Retake from the result, or start again from the library. A result is for that sitting. It can change if your answers change.

Is this the same as Myers-Briggs or 16Personalities?

No. Meridian does not give a four-letter type. A result names a lean in ordinary language, such as "Clear plans," and shows the other scores beside it.

What a result means

Is this a psychological or medical assessment?

The PHQ-9, GAD-7, and ASRS v1.1 screener are published forms, scored the way their authors specify. They are still not a diagnosis. The autism, bipolar, trauma, borderline, and narcissism pages are original reflections, not those copyrighted questionnaires. If you might act on thoughts of suicide, call or text 988 in the US, or use your local emergency number.

What do I get for free?

The strongest theme and the scores. On the published screens, the score and the band are free as well. Kept adds the written note on the original tests: how the theme shows up, and the one habit to watch.

Can I use a result for hiring or school?

No. A result is a reading of the prompts you just answered. It is not a hiring test, a school placement, or a measure of worth.

Who can use the site?

You must be at least 16. If you are under 18, use the site with a parent or guardian.

Price

What does it cost?

The tests and the scores are free. Kept is $8 a month for the written result, and that price does not change. There is no trial. The checkout page states the price again before you pay.

How do I cancel?

Use Unsubscribe while logged in. That stops the next charge. You keep the written results until the month you already paid for ends. After that the account returns to the free plan.

Can I get a refund?

A charge after a cancellation, or a second charge for the same month, can be refunded. Write through the contact page with the email on the account and the date of the charge. A month in which you opened the written results is not refunded automatically. Details are on the refund page.

How do I pay?

Stripe runs checkout. Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and the other methods enabled on the Stripe account appear when this browser can use them. We do not store the card number.

Account and privacy

Do you keep my answers?

An unfinished test stays in this browser until you finish, retake, or close the tab. Scoring happens on the server. We do not keep a copy of each answer. An account stores your email, a password hash, your plan, and the result of a test you finish while logged in.

Do you sell data or run ads?

No. We do not sell personal data, and we do not run an advertising or analytics cookie. One login cookie keeps you signed in. Details are on the privacy page and the cookie page.

How do I delete my account?

Ask from the contact page using the email on the account. That is the address we look up.

What is the confirmation email for?

It confirms the address and logs the account in. The link works for 24 hours. Kept checkout stays closed until that email is confirmed. We do not send a newsletter.

I forgot my password.

Use the forgot-password page. We email a reset link. You can also log in from a link we email you, without typing the password.
