Time, a task, or the words
27 May 2026
You look after people by spending time with them, by doing something practical, or by saying it.
Time
You show care by being there. A favor done in another room does not land the same way. The visit is the point, even if nothing gets fixed.
People who care by doing will feel unthanked. You got a repaired hinge. They think they showed up. Say which one you can feel.
A task
You show care by taking something off their plate. Words without a change in the day can sound thin. You would rather be useful than eloquent.
The miss is a person who needed the sentence. A solved problem is not always the care they asked for.
The words
You show care by saying it, clearly, while it is true. Unspoken loyalty feels like absence to you. You will believe a plain sentence over a quiet year of chores.
Say it, and also notice when someone is saying it with a full sink and an empty speech. Both can be care.
