The habit you reach for when something is hard
18 Jun 2026
Character, on this site, is the move you make when a day goes wrong: nerve, fairness, wonder, kindness, finish, or perspective.
Six moves
Nerve starts the thing you are avoiding. Fairness checks who pays. Wonder keeps you from freezing the first explanation. Kindness looks after the person in front of you. Finish closes the loop. Perspective pulls the camera back.
You have all six somewhere. The quiz asks which one shows up before you think about it. That one is the strength. It is also the rut.
The rut
If you always reach for fairness, you can miss the moment that needed nerve. If you always finish, you can ship something that needed another look. The strength and the rut are the same muscle.
A written result on Kept names the habit to watch. The free page already shows the bars, so you can see the second move waiting.
Use it this week
Pick one hard thing already on the calendar. Notice the first move you make. If it is the one that scored highest, you have a match. If you reach for a lower bar, the day asked for something else, and that is allowed.
You do not have to train all six. One week of noticing the first move is enough.
